Annette's Tips:
-
I use lots of props and visuals. During Fruit of the Spirit, I had a silver candy dish on pedestal with the fruit of the week on it, right next to me. I referred to it when I described the fruit. For the Bride series, it was fun when the girls brought in their "wedding shoes" when you talked about them, or anything else that pertained. Each week the leaders took turns making wedding favors for the whole class (just first semester)

We have leaders in charge of hospitality, greeting, cleanup, recordings sales, treasurer and discussion leaders for 2nd hour.
-
Second hour we have discussion questions and the leader of that group asks them. These discussions are hard to break up at the end of the hour!
-
We have a sign up sheet for food. Often we're able to list the theme of the day so the girls bake according to the theme, which is delightful! When we did "God's Garden", a girl made slugs out of crescent rolls on an Oreo cake that looked like dirt. It goes on and on (specially that year).
-
We hake an offering every week for childcare and supplies. We gift our childcare workers every year with gift certificates, cash or other to appreciate their work.
-
We never mention denominations amongst each other to avoid division.
-
We STRESS Childcare. This has been one of the most important pieces! Women can finally be carefree with kids right in the next room!
